The women in our trades are the best among us and serve as leaders in the field and in our communities. We want to thank Councilmember Sean Elo-Rivera for proclaiming this week, March 3rd – March 8th, as ‘Women In Construction Week’ in the City of San Diego.

Girls and women receive a LOT of counter-messaging from an early age about “who” is allowed to consider working in construction—and a lot of that messaging doesn’t include them. We are committed to pushing back on that kind of negative messaging, because we know that our apprenticeship opportunities put people on the path towards meaningful careers with family-supporting wages.

Opportunity, diversity, fairness, and the ability to build a better future for yourself: these are the foundational principles of the Building Trades.
